Based in Batăr, Bihor, Romania, SC Iris Carpati SRL specialises in fourth-range production, offering fresh, ready-to-consume products for large-scale distribution. The company is renowned for the quality of its crops and its commitment to the environment.

The customer's requirements

SC Iris Carpati SRL faced several challenges related to greenhouse crop management, including:
  • Inefficient use of land due to empty spaces between traditional tunnels.
  • Inconsistency in crop growth caused by inadequate climate control.
  • High humidity during the cold months and overheating in the summer, both detrimental to the crops.
The company was looking for a solution that would optimise land use, improve internal microclimate control, reduce thermal stress on the crops and ensure consistent production.

Agrimec’s proposal

Agrimec proposed the installation of 1,600 m² bitunnel modules, 16 x 100 m, designed to maximise land efficiency and improve climate control.

    The even distribution of internal temperatures ensures uniform crop growth, eliminating inconsistencies caused by climatic differences.
  • Inflated double film covering
    This technology provides superior thermal insulation, protecting crops from both cold and heat, and increasing resistance to adverse weather conditions.
